Safety: Control System Cyber Security Certification Added
exida, a Sellersville, Pa. based supplier of functional safety products, services and certifications, has added control system cyber security certification to its Safety Automation Equipment List, which it says is the world's most comprehensive list of safety certified equipment.
exida (www.exida.com) is responding to the new 2010 version of the IEC 61508 safety standard, which now incorporates control system cyber security threat analysis as part of the functional safety assessment process.
"Cyber security has become an important issue," said exida managing director Dr. William Goble. "The controller's ability to maintain control and safety, even during an attack is the key.
